The incumbent directs the Project Management Office by providing expert guidance to ensure all projects comply with established guidelines, align with strategic objectives, and are properly reported on.

 

JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent will be required to effectively manage the project teams and communicate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, to ensure that projects are proceeding according to timelines, meetings targets and expectations, and adhering to established operating parameters; negotiates changes in projects resources as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Directs and manages the activities of the Project Management Office to ensure that all of the NWRHA's projects are implemented in compliance with established guidelines and the NWRHA's policies and procedures.
  • Provides guidance and expertise to manage, coordinate and report on all projects within the NWRHA using standardized project management principles.
  • Develops and implements strategic objectives in conjunction with the various NWRHA's departments to ensure that projects are aligned with the strategic initiatives.
  • Prepares and presents periodic reports regarding project activities.
  • Ensures that proper procedures have been followed and identify, evaluate and submit for review as necessary, all project plans that have been developed or changed.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering Management, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
  • At least five (5) years post qualification experience in a similar or related job function, three (3) of which should have been at the middle management level.
  • Sound knowledge of the health care environment and current developments in the health sector will be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of hospital facility design, hospital construction processes, hospital maintenance management will be an asset.

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
