The incumbent provides legal services by vetting leases, contracts, and conveyancing matters, while managing litigation, instructing external attorneys, and representing the organization in court.

Under the general direction and management of the Deputy Solicitor-General, the Crown Counsel is responsible for providing high quality general legal advice to various Government Departments, Ministries and Agencies (MDAs).

The incumbent provides complex legal research and guidance by drafting legislation, and contracts, while supporting policy development, managing litigation as instructing counsel, and representing the Ministry on inter-ministerial committees.
