Assistant General Counsel (Fixed Term Contract)

Job Overview

The incumbent has responsibility for providing legal services to the organization including subsidiaries, preparing and/or vetting leases, conveyancing matters, construction and commercial contracts for various types of projects and instructing external Attorneys and monitoring litigation and as well as representing the Corporation in specific matters in Court.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

• LLB or equivalent qualification and Legal Education Certificate
• Admission to the Jamaican Bar
• At least two (2) years of experience in commercial litigation at various levels
• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a commercial environment would be an asset
• Knowledge of Contracts, Conveyancing and preparation of commercial documents generally
