Job Title: Façade Manager (Construction Site-Based), part of the clients site based team

Location: Barbados

Reports to: Project Director

 

Job Purpose:

To manage all aspects of façade works on a construction project, ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and execution of façade installation in line with design specifications, quality standards, timelines, and safety requirements.

Particular knowledge of Aluminium and Glass facade systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, procurement, installation, and quality control of all façade systems (e.g., curtain walling, cladding, glazing, rainscreen).
  • Act as the main point of contact for façade-related activities on site, coordinating between designers, suppliers, subcontractors, and the main construction team.
  • Review and interpret façade drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop and monitor detailed façade installation programmes, sequencing work to align with overall project timelines.
  • Manage site logistics concerning façade deliveries, storage, and safe material handling.
  • Conduct regular inspections of façade works for quality assurance and adherence to safety standards.
  • Identify and resolve technical or coordination issues related to façade design or installation.
  • Liaise with architects, structural engineers, and façade consultants to address discrepancies or potential improvements.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure installation is executed per approved drawings and methods.
  • Prepare progress reports, update records, and communicate status to senior management and the project team.
  • Ensure all works comply with health and safety regulations, site rules, and risk assessments specific to façade works.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 3+ years) managing façade works on large construction projects.
  • Sound technical understanding of various façade systems, materials, and installation methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of construction site health and safety requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in MS Office; experience with project management and design coordination software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is an advantage.
