The incumbent ensures that all payments are prepared correctly and promptly and to maintain documents related to payments in accordance with the Financial Administration and Audit (FAA) Act and NLJ guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitates all payments by:
    • Preparing purchase orders
    • Preparing payment vouchers
    • Preparing cheques and electronic transfers
    • Preparing correspondences for cheque disbursements
    • Preparing routine forms and letters
  • Prepares Withholding Tax Certificates
  • Updates all cash books electronically
  • Maintains utility payment registers
  • Maintains vendor files
  • Retains and organizes cheque stubs
  • Researches and resolves invoice or payment discrepancies and issues
  • Maintains filing system
  • Performs data entry as necessary
  • Prepares reports
  • Performs other related duties from time to time

Qualification & Experience

  • 5 CXC subjects or equivalent including English Language and Mathematics/Accounts or
  • Module one (1) in Government Accounting Level 1
  • At least one (1) year working experience

 

Special Conditions Associated with the Job

  • Required to work outside normal working hours to include Saturdays
