To provide general support services to the Ballistics Unit to facilitate the smooth functioning of the Authority.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Verify completed ballistic signature sheet
  • Complete firearm details of signature sheets
  • Verifies ballistics test date information for renewal and declarations received
  • Ensure that the recertification information is appropriately logged
  • Type memoranda, letters, reports and other correspondences as instructed
  • Dispatches correspondences (both internally and externally)
  • Verifies the accuracy of documents collected from external clients (Firearm Dealers)
  • Enters data from Ballistic signature sheet onto the File Management System
  • Logs details of Firearms tested onto the system
  • Checks off and verify firearms collected from Dealers, Police and Security companies

 

Requirements:

  • Four (4) subjects at GCE O' Level/CXC General Proficiency inclusive of English Language and Mathematics
  • One (1) year experience in data entry or electronic data
  • Knowledge of the Firearms Act
  • Knowledge of data entry
  • Demonstrated use of computer systems and tools
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Excellent use of initiative
  • Extremely meticulous
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Good planning and organizing skills
