The Cashier provides customer service by registering outpatients, verifying insurance, collecting payments and co-pays, balancing daily receipts, and addressing patient queries in accordance with hospital policy.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

To provide and maintain a consistent high level of customer service to all patients and customers in accordance with the hospital's policy. Greet customers and associates immediately. The cashier is responsible for the registration of outpatient services to Doctors Hospital, ensuring that the necessary deposits and co-pays are collected, insurance benefits are verified, claim forms, assignment of benefits, and patient records are signed. Accept payments from customers for hospital services rendered, giving receipts for the same. Daily, balance cash, checks, and credit cards against the Cash Reconciliation Report. Maintain an adequate inventory and report to work as scheduled. Answer patient queries in an informed manner and perform any other duties assigned by the supervisors of Patient Registration.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Basic working knowledge of computers. Keyboarding skills required.

  • Answering inbound and outbound calls for queries and matters related to patient registration.
  • Answering and managing emails effectively, which deal with patient registration matters, and ensuring they are addressed or referred in a timely manner.
  • Following up with the appropriate associate/department with regard to certain patient inquiries via email/telephone to resolve inquiries and close cases
  • Ability to track and monitor pending client/patient cases and resolved cases.
  • Providing schedule availability two weeks in advance
  • Submitting weekly reporting on productivity
  • Assist with booking appointments for the clinics


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1 (one) or 2 (two) years' experience in the same field
  • Customer service certification +
  • Well organized with the ability to prioritize
  • Detail-oriented and problem-solving ability
  • Very good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
