The incumbent reviews and evaluates the UDC Group’s control systems, reports audit findings to the Audit Committee, and ensures departmental adherence to internal audit standards and ethical guidelines.

 

Job Purpose:

The incumbent has the responsibility to review and evaluate the soundness, adequacy and application of the accounting, financial and other control systems within the UDC Group. He/she has the responsibility to make regular reports to the Audit Committee concerning the findings, as well as efforts by management to improve and resolve audit findings. The incumbent will also ensure that the Audit Departmentoperates in accordance with the established standards for the professional practice of internal auditing and the Code of Ethics.

The ideal candidate should have:

 

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • Master’s Degree majoring in Accounting or an equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, five (5) of which should be at a management level in the auditing profession within a public accounting firm or a large organization.
  • Mastery of auditing techniques and procedures, internal control systems and checks methodology
  • Mastery in the design, development and implementation of Internal Audit Programmes
  • Expert knowledge of accounting principles, practices and systems
  • Sound Knowledge of Computer applications such Word and Excel
  • Sound knowledge of organization and management
  • Thorough knowledge of UDC’s operations
  • Knowledge of CAAT such as Audit Command Language
  • Expert knowledge of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
