Consultant Nephrologist

Clinical & General Responsibilities:

• In liaison with Consultant colleagues and overseas service providers, the Post Holders will be responsible for the clinical management of Patients under their care including nephrology, dialysis and transplant patients
• Provides care for a cohort of Patients who have haemodialysis in the Dr. Beresford Swan Dialysis unit. This includes care of the Patients, regular Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) reviews and involvement in the management of the Unit
• Promote and participate in interdisciplinary clinical rounds and be a clinical resource, leading in the development of best practice clinical pathways.
• Collaborates with the designated Service Chiefs, Clinical Managers / Clinical Directors to strategize and plan to achieve corporate and service improvement goals
• Act as an advisor to the Chief of Staff and Senior Officers of BHB, Professional Practice Leaders, Clinical Managers and other Professional Colleagues on medical and medical-legal matters related to nephrology. Required to see BHB nephrology patients in the clinic.
• Provide appropriate, time return for external Consultations and Quality and Risk activities as required

Qualifications & Experience required:

• Board certified 
• Specialty registration and training in Nephrological Medicine 
• Current registration with Bermuda Medical Council with valid license to practice
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Consultant Nephrologist / Renal Physician
