Ensure public rooms are kept to Holland America Line cleanliness and maintenance standards. Supervises team members assigned to public areas and Night Steward teams where applicable.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign work, monitor and supervise public rooms cleaning teams by ensuring that team members work effectively in accomplishing tasks to meet the quality level and standards of the company.
  • Effectively supervise public rooms cleaning teams by providing ongoing coaching, guidance, training, and correction through good communication, motivation, and demonstration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping, to include but not limited to public rooms inspections, maintenance reports, and carpet shampoo schedules.
  • Report Housekeeping equipment repairs needed and follow up on job orders to ensure satisfactory completion. Prepare any other paperwork as required by Deck Manager and / or Executive Housekeeper.

 

Required Experience

  • Preferred college or university degree / diploma in hospitality management related field preferred. International equivalent suffices.
  • Minimum 1-year leadership experience in the hospitality industry showing progressive growth in responsibility. Preferred 1-year of shipboard experience within the Housekeeping Services environment.
  • Cruise industry experience is preferred though not essential.

 

Critical Professional related Technical Skills; Computer Skills

  • Working knowledge of computers and the ability to navigate within a variety of software programs such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred experience with shipboard/hospitality related software, including but not limited to, AIMS, iInspector, Micros/Fidelio, Crunchtime, etc.
