To provide for the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment used in the Company’s operations.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To complete all electrical installation and maintenance of equipment from the point of GPL connection with voltages as high as 440 volts to the company's installations. 
  • To install, repair and maintain electrical equipment including controls, motors, generators, etc. used in operations. 
  • To rewire and maintain electrical service to buildings, treatment plants and pumps stations. 
  • To check and maintain electrical safety equipment including breakers fuses, etc. 
  • To replace light bulbs and service other electrical appliances, except computers and computer peripherals. 
  • To ensure the safety of colleagues and members of the public by posting electrical hazard warnings, and ensuring the integrity of fencing and other barriers. 
  • To order materials and spares needed to complete job assignments. Ensures that materials/spares provided are properly accounted for.
  • To make written and or oral reports on jobs completed and in progress as required. 
  • To perform other related duties and responsibilities consistent with the purpose and level of the post. 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Technical Certificate in Electrician Installation 
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as an Industrial Electrician
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify electrical faults 
  • Be able to work with minimum supervision 
  • Good communication skills
  • Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering. 
  • Three (3) years experience installing, maintaining of electrical equipment.
