The incumbent handles maintenance requests, performs preventative and general repairs, troubleshoots building systems, and ensures safety and guest satisfaction while supporting engineering operations with minimal supervision.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Respond to and resolve guest maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, and systems.
  • Inspect, carry, and operate tools and machinery; identify and control shut-off valves.
  • Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and issues across shifts.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in one or more trades (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
  • Safely use hand/power tools and perform basic pipe repair, soldering, and troubleshooting.
  • Repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and perform guestroom fixes.
  • Assist with general repairs, painting, drywall, housekeeping, and A/C filter replacement.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and use related engineering software.
  • Mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer on Duty responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all safety, appearance, and company policies.
  • Provide excellent guest service, support team collaboration, and maintain professionalism.
  • Perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, and climbing as required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and vocational or technical background.

Related Work Experience:

  • Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting.
  • At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.

Supervisory Experience:            

  • No supervisory experience. 

License or Certification:              

  • Valid Driver’s License


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification
  • Must meet applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
