The incumbent will be responsible for keeping the hospital grounds clean and ensuring the proper maintenance of lawns, garden tools, and equipment, while also maintaining the overall aesthetic appearance of the grounds.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of Primary Education. 
  • Certificate by HEART/NTA in landscaping, horticulture or related discipline would be a definite asset
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience within a similar position.

  • Physical Fitness 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team 
  • Ability to respect patient confidentiality 
  • Good time management skills 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills 

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Keeps surroundings/grounds clean by: 
    • Sweeping; 
    • Disposing of garbage and debris appropriately. 
  • Assists in the beautification of the exterior of the hospital by: 
    • Cuts lawn and prunes hedges; 
    • Planting and watering flowers. 
  • Operates equipment to maintain grounds of the hospital. 
  • Assists in the lifting and removing of office equipment. 
  • Performing duties of other Attendants in their absence. 
  • Disposes of garbage collected outside appropriately. 
  • Reports tools and equipment to be repaired. 
  • •Sanitizes and washes down walkways as required. 
  • Following applicable safety guidelines and procedures. 
  • Performing other duties as required. 

 

Special conditions associated with the job:

  • Required to work beyond normal working hours to include holidays and weekends.
  • Core duties and responsibilities are performed outdoors. 
  • Required to lift furniture, boxes, equipment etc. 
  • Required to be physically fit, strong, agile and dexterous. 
  • Exposure to sun and chemicals.
