The incumbent evaluates information systems and data center security to remediate control weaknesses. They prepare audit reports, assist with IT-related financial audits, and train staff in computer-assisted audit techniques and technologies.

 

Information Systems Audit Manager

The Information Systems Audit Manager I reports directly to the Information Systems Senior Audit Manager, Audit and Advisory Services and is responsible for reviewing business units and making recommendations for remediation of control weaknesses identified and management action to be taken.

 

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Prepare audit work paper files and draft reports for discussion and review by the Information Systems Senior Audit Manager for presentation to management.
  • Test and evaluate the information systems and make recommendations to strengthen the information systems control environment.
  • Conduct reviews of the development of technology-based systems and security controls at the data centres as directed by the Information Systems Senior Audit Manager.
  • Assist the financial/operational audit staff with IT-related aspects of audits.
  • Assist with the training of audit staff in basic computer audit skills and computer assisted audit techniques.
  • Assist audit staff in using the computer to improve the scope and efficiency of audits.
  • Maintain and update proficiency and knowledge required for the position including new audit techniques and products, computer hardware and software and new developments in technology. 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc in Information Systems, Internal Auditing, Risk Management or a related field or relevant professional qualifications (CIA, CFE, CRISC, CISA)
  • Knowledge of IIA, ISACA and other relevant professional standards
  • At least 3 years post qualification experience
  • Proficiency in Office Tools and familiarity with audit software and database mining software is desirable
  • Good ability to analyse data and identify trends /themes
  • Proficient in auditing skills
  • Proven ability to work unsupervised and to use own initiative
