Oversees kitchen staff, ensures food quality and presentation, manages inventory and safety compliance, supports team performance, and assists with hiring and training to maintain operational and service standards.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Supervise and coordinate cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Decide food presentation style and create decorative food displays.
  • Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of dishes.
  • Monitor food preparation quantities to avoid waste or shortage.
  • Notify service staff about menu specials and unavailable items.
  • Prepare special meals or substitutions as needed.
  • Support cooks and provide required ingredients or items.
  • Monitor kitchen stock and replenish supplies and food inventory.
  • Maintain food safety and quality logs.
  • Inspect food quality and report non-compliant products.
  • Assist with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, and coaching staff.
  • Enforce company policies, safety, and hygiene procedures.
  • Report accidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment issues.
  • Ensure staff uniforms and appearance meet professional standards.
  • Address guest service needs and maintain positive communication.
  • Promote teamwork and respond to staff concerns.
  • Adhere to quality standards and operational procedures.
  • Perform physical tasks like standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs), and other movements.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Related Work Experience: 4 to 6 years of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
