To assist with the daily operations of the Junior Centre and Simon Bolivar library by providing efficient and reliable services to users.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Monitors issue desk Assist users with research
  • Maintains current information for vertical files
  • Maintains order in the Reading Room
  • Maintains order in the reading and cyber Centre at the Simon Bolivar Library
  • Mounts exhibitions/displays on a scheduled and ad hoc basis
  • Prepares and sends overdue notices to delinquent borrowers
  • Assists with the input and maintenance of information in the WINISIS database
  • Assists with the monitoring of access and usage of public computers
  • Assists with the planning and execution of the library’s outreach programme
  • Files vertical files alphabetically in cabinet
  • Prepares labels for bookshelves
  • Assists with the updating of Social media pages
  • Assists with the dispatch of survey forms and assist users where necessary in answering the questions
  • Assists with the Audio-Visual setup and use in the Lecture and Bob Verity Hall

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) GCE Ordinary Level or CXC (General Proficiency) subjects, including English Language
  • Library Technical Assistant Certificate would be an asset
