We are seeking an experienced Manager to join our growing team and drive the expansion of the Bank's presence within the corporate segment.

 

Position Overview:

The Manager, Corporate & Commercial Credit Risk, contributes to the asset growth and profitability of the Bank by ensuring that credit applications and proposals are adjudicated soundly and in accordance with the Bank’s Credit Policy Guide. The incumbent makes recommendations to the Corporate Manager, Credit Risk, regarding credit proposals and interfaces with stakeholders across the Bank on credit-related matters. The incumbent also provides feedback, coaching, and training to line lenders in the units and branches throughout the Bank’s network, and reports to the Corporate Manager, Credit Risk.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide sound and timely credit decisions within authorized limits through competent, thorough analysis, including appropriate structure, pricing, terms, and security.
  • Review documentation meticulously to ensure approved credit is accurately recorded; recommend amendments as needed to protect the Bank’s interests.
  • Identify market opportunities; refer them to the Corporate Manager and ensure well-structured proposals are not overlooked.
  • Monitor credit judgments by the Corporate & Commercial Services Unit and branches; deliver training, technical support, and guidance for “Out of Policy” requests.
  • Ensure country credit risk rating and scoring models are utilized as intended.
  • Enforce adherence to established credit policies by Branch Managers and lending officers; address unsatisfactory trends and recommend corrective actions or escalations for repeated issues.
  • Provide expert guidance and counsel to the Corporate & Commercial Services Unit and branches on credit policies and techniques related to credit adjudication, pricing, collection, and procedures.
  • Maintain and strictly adhere to a Service Level Agreement with units/branches to uphold high customer service standards and profitability.
  • Assist and guide Credit Adjudication Officers to ensure credits adjudicated under their discretionary lending limits comply with policy guidelines and are properly approved.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed monthly tracking schedule of credits approved by the unit, report to the Corporate Manager, Credit Risk.
  • Assist in the development of Lending officers in the field by supervising the provision of adequate guidance on credit applications and proposals.
  • Provide on-the-job training, constructive feedback, and advice on general and specific credit issues.
  • Facilitate internal credit courses, such as the Basic Credit Course and Practical Techniques for Corporate and Commercial Credit Workshop.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field and seven (7) or more years of corporate and/or commercial credit experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, commercial/consumer lending policies, procedures, practices and techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of credit policies and procedures as well as regulatory guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to work independently with variable workflows.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of collaborating across units and presenting findings to senior management.
