Bermuda Institute is seeking On-Call Substitute Teachers across all grades for the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate will join the school’s substitute teaching list with the aim of covering teacher absences and teaching classes at the respective levels (Elementary, Middle School & High School).

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Applicants must provide the following items:

  •  An up-to-date resume along with certified copies of relevant qualifications
  •  Certified copy of current denominational certification if applicable and, the Bermuda Educator's Council License
  •  Three references with email addresses, including one from your current supervisor and current pastor
  •  A certified police background check from each jurisdiction/country lived in the immediate past 10 years 
  •  A current SCARS certificate which demonstrates an understanding of how to act responsibly in a working environment involving children

 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  •  Must be a college/university graduate with a minimum of three (3) years’ classroom teaching experience
  •  Must be a skilled teacher able to use current and emerging technologies in learning and communicating with students.

 

Required Competencies, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have great classroom management skills and the ability to relate well with students
  • Must demonstrate drive and adaptability to work in an ever-evolving environment
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills (verbal & written)
  • Must be a practicing Seventh-day Adventist in regular standing who loves children, models Christianity, upholds the faith and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and possess the ability to foster faith development in students at Bermuda Institute
