The incumbent manages regional operations, oversees projects, mobilizes staff for emergencies, monitors infrastructure, enforces standards, advises managers, maintains records, and ensures targets, training, and performance evaluations are met.

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5-7 years experience in Project Management with at least three (3) years experience at a management level.
  • Training in Project Management/Road Construction or related areas.
  • Post graduate qualifications preferably in engineering or project management.

Reporting Relationship:

  • Reports to: Director, Regional Implementation and Special Projects

 

Principal Functions:

  • Represent the Agency at meetings, conferences, and other functions as required.
  • General management of all activities within the designated region.
  • Mobilize regional staff in response to emergency situations such as flooding, earthquakes, etc.
  • Documents in a timely and accurate manner all project outcomes in the appropriate reports.
  • Regulate, monitor, and enforce standards of good performance in all aspects of the projects.
  • Maintain inventory of road conditions, bridges, quarries, and other structures in the region.
  • Maintain close contact and participate in teams involved in field trips, site visits, and other project activities.
  • Accountable for the achievement of regional targets.
  • Meet regularly with Construction Manager and Parish Managers to revise work programmes and projects.
  • Provide professional advice on all technical and administrative matters referred by Managers and staff.
  • Recommend training and leadership to regional staff.
  • Preparation of Performance Appraisals and recommendations about required training and development for direct reports.
