Position Overview:

The Relationship Manager, Premier & Private Banking, is responsible for identifying and developing profitable opportunities through targeted marketing strategies and cultivating relationships with key business introducers, financial intermediaries, professional advisers, High Net Worth, Very High Net Worth, and Ultra High Net Worth clients. The role ensures exceptional customer service, strict adherence to bank standards, and profitability. In collaboration with the Corporate Manager, the incumbent develops and executes plans to meet business objectives. 

This position drives growth via portfolio management and acquisition of new households, delivering comprehensive solutions for clients’ personal and business goals. The Relationship Manager offers appropriate credit solutions with clear upfront expectations and provides consistent, tailored relationship management alongside proactive advice. Additionally, the role supports strategic and policy development by senior management through timely and accurate reporting, analysis, and evaluation. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the provision of a range of banking services to the Bank’s clients, ensuring the maintenance of superior customer service and the building of profitable client relationships. 
  • Ensure that revenue and profitability are increased through the cross-selling of the Bank’s products and the effective application of appropriate fee structures. 
  • Direct the Unit’s activities, ensuring that the Bank’s guidelines are always adhered to and that all possible steps are taken to minimize the risk of loss. 
  • Solicit and assess credit opportunities (including but not limited to mortgages, personal lines of credit, and credit cards) with consistent maintenance and reporting of the sales pipeline. Refer prospective business opportunities to internal partners. 
  • Demonstrate risk and portfolio management acumen by effectively managing portfolio quality.
  • Own the client’s onboarding experience, serving as the client’s first point of contact and clearly establishing needs. 
  • Exercise good judgment when negotiating structure and fees, balancing risk and client experience.
  • Create and implement a contact strategy (while respecting the client’s preferred mode of contact), including diarized 30, 60, and 90-day follow-ups for new clients to ensure satisfaction or gather feedback. 
  • Educate clients on digital and self-service channels. 
  • Apply Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, including customer identity, source of funds, and the nature and volume of expected activity. 

 

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, or related field, with at least six (6) years of banking experience, including two to three (2–3) years in a management role. 
  • Sound credit knowledge. 
  • Excellent understanding of local financial markets and economic, political, social, investment, business environment. as well competitive trends. 
  • Solid understanding of banking and branch operations and related accounting procedures.
  • Excellent relationship management skills. 
  • Strong communication and analytical skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and managerial abilities. 
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. 
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and spreadsheet programs. 
  • Ability to analyze mortgage and credit proposals relative to the Professional Plan program.
