The Speech Therapist is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting speech therapy programmes to develop speech and language skills to facilitate personal, social, and intellectual development of patients.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings and diagnostic evaluations to determine the need for clinical services.
  • Implement treatment plans to prevent language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
  • Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
  • Use evidence-based therapies and innovative techniques to provide optimal patient care.
  • Educate patients and families on speech disorders and available therapies.
  • Maintain confidential records and detailed notes on patient history and progress.
  • Evaluate patient progress and adjust therapy programs as needed.
  • Provide mentoring and workshops for speech therapy patients.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the field through conferences and research.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the Psychologist.

 

Special Conditions Associated with the Job:

  • May work beyond normal hours, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Exposure to crises requiring immediate responses.
  • May require travel within and outside the region, including overseas conferences.

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Speech Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Relevant License and Certification.
  • Experience with specific disorders and age groups is an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a similar capacity.
