The incumbent supports surveying projects by operating instruments, laying pegs, collecting and computing data, assisting professionals, testing equipment, and ensuring assignments are completed efficiently and within performance targets.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least grade nine level education.
  • Vocational/Technical training in construction field.
  • Training in Engineering Surveying.
  • At least two (2) years related work experience in a Land Surveying Environment.

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS/KEY COMPETENCIES:

  • Basic knowledge in construction of roads, drains, bridges, river training/flood control, sea defense, and retaining walls, etc.
  • Work under instruction of Project Surveyor.

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

  • To operate surveying instruments under the instruction of the project surveyor and lay out basic pegs for measurement, etc.
  • Completion of assignments and meeting agreed performance targets.
  • Execute job functions efficiently and effectively.
  • Participate in field surveys (collect, compute and present data) on survey projects carried out by contractors on behalf of the Agency.
  • Provide technical assistance and collect data for other professionals in the Agency on the surveying aspects of their projects.
  • Test and calibre new and used surveying equipment.
