The AVP, Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and delivering the Group Technology technical and security infrastructure and services across Butterfield in the Cayman Islands.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining, implementing and maintaining an assigned remit of infrastructure and security solutions through the interpretation of business goals and the assessment of current infrastructure capabilities; making recommendations where required
  • Effectively leading specialist team members and overseeing any external consultancy or contract resources
  • Designing and implementing systems and service solutions to ensure that the level of service delivered by the department meets or exceed the business needs in a cost effective manner
  • Managing changes made to service infrastructure components including service assets, configurations items and all associated documentation
  • Ensuring the resolution of both reactive and proactive issues and support with the implementation of remedies to prevent any future incidents or re-occurrences.
  • Maintaining a current and in-depth knowledge of the businesses

 

About the team

Information Technology covers a wide range of responsibilities at Butterfield including oversight of the Bank’s entire technology infrastructure, software development and maintenance to facilitate online product development and efficiencies as well as management of the website and intranet platforms. IT also plays a critical role in ensuring the Bank’s systems are kept safe and secure from cyber criminals.

 

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • A university degree in an associated field, along with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience
  • Technical certifications, such as Microsoft MCTIP/MCE, VMware VCP, Citrix or Cisco would be advantageous
  • A proven track record of delivering results and leading technical projects in a similar technical role
  • Server and Desktop Virtualization, MS Exchange, Active Directory, MDM, Storage, Networking, Endpoint hardware, Telephony, Asset Management, Security and Operational IT Security practices
