The incumbent prepares and monitors meals to recipe and quality standards, assists with team supervision, maintains kitchen safety and hygiene, and ensures clear communication with culinary and service staff.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare special meals or substitute items as requested
  • Thaw frozen food by transferring to refrigerator
  • Regulate temperature of cooking equipment (ovens, grills, broilers, roasters)
  • Prepare and cook food following recipes and presentation standards
  • Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of meals
  • Monitor food quality and quantity; maintain food logs
  • Communicate assistance needs during busy periods
  • Inform Chef of surplus food for daily specials
  • Notify service staff of menu specials and unavailable items
  • Prepare cold foods and ensure consistency with quality expectations
  • Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching team members
  • Maintain cleanliness, professionalism, and safety compliance
  • Report accidents, unsafe conditions, or maintenance needs
  • Support team collaboration and address concerns respectfully
  • Follow confidentiality and company asset protection protocols

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 3 years of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
  • License or Certification: None
