Provides support to the Director Corporate Planning and Client Relations with the strategic management process and assists with the preparation and analysis of strategic and operational plans of the Authority.

 

Management Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of Annual/Quarterly/Monthly and general progress reports
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars and other fora on strategic planning issues
  • Prepare Individual Work Plan based on strategic alignment with the Authority’s Strategic and Operational Plan
  • Assist and participate in development of the framework that guides development of the Authority’s strategic and operational plans
  • Develop in conjunction with the Director the annual and quarterly list of Authority priority programmes
  • Participate in data gathering exercises designed to inform the Authority Corporate Plan
  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of strategic and operational plans by the Authority’s departments
  • Provide assistance and guidance to Heads of Division/Branches/Unit with the preparation of strategic and operational plans, ensuring integration of targets, indicators and other performance measures in the planning and budget processes
  • Assist with the design of strategic and operational planning processes and procedures for priority setting
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of quarterly and annual reports
  • Assist with strategic planning activities/workshops for stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Divisional/Unit Heads to identify research needs in relation to their operations and programmes
  • Monitor the quarterly and yearly reviews of the plans to ensure consistency with Authority objectives
  • Participate in the review and analysis of the performance of the entire Authority in relation to the strategic, corporate and operational plans
  • Assist in conducting research, analysing findings and preparing reports on the efficiency and effectiveness of the departments of the Authority
  • Assist in conducting research and reporting the level of stakeholder and client satisfaction with Authority products and services

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSc. in Public Sector Management or Management Studies or related Social Science with research component
  • Training in Strategic Planning
  • One (1) year related working experience
  • Strong strategic planning, research, analytical and report writing skills
  • Use of relevant computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project or other project tools
  • Sound knowledge and expertise to monitor business matters and corporate governance matters
  • Excellent knowledge of public sector management principles
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and people management skills
  • Planning and organising
  • Demonstrated use of initiative
