The incumbent coordinates and participates in cash handling, verification, and fulfillment activities, ensures accurate reconciliation, supports clean banknote policies, and assists in detecting counterfeit or damaged currency.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate and participate in bulk cash paying and receiving activities, on rotation, to promote the efficient, timely, and accurate fulfilment of physical and digital currency demanded by the market. This function includes assisting the vault staff with planned and unplanned reconciliation of currency stocks.
  • Coordinate and supervise cash verification activities, on rotation, to ensure thorough verification of incoming cash deposits and accurate reconciliation of exceptions against circulation and commercial bank accounts. Basic tenets of this function actively support the Bank’s clean banknote policy.
  • Coordinate the fulfillment function for banknotes and coins activities, on rotation, in accordance with circulation demands and the Central Bank’s clean banknote policy. This includes bulk, storage, retrieval, and verification of currency in a highly procedural cash centre environment.
  • Assist with the detection, analysis, and attestation of counterfeit and altered banknotes through a secondary inspection processes. This includes the interaction with walk-in customers who seek to redeem damaged banknotes as well as participating with law enforcement to curtail counterfeiting threats.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/banking/finance or equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • No work experience required.
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing applications.
