The incumbent manages Facilities Unit operations and supports planning and execution of the Bank’s facilities programme, ensuring all works meet established policies, procedures, and standards.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

Under direction of the Chief Facilities Officer, manage the operations of the Facilities Unit and assist with guiding, planning, coordinating and directing the development of the Bank’s Facilities programme. This includes providing input on developing, testing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure that all capital works i.e. physical and civil works, maintenance, repairs, improvements and other areas of facilities management conducted at the Bank’s various properties adhere to established standards.

 

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with coordinating a robust training and development programme for the Facilities workforce, including the assessment and closing of gaps to promote compliance with IFMA best practices.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of staff through facilities management training in facilities, property and plant maintenance for the Bank’s various properties to help reduce building maintenance costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and management of all associated structural, mechanical, electrical and environmental systems.
  • Provide management assistance and guidance of capital works, projects, budgets, contracts and the Bank’s Health and Safety programme.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree in an Engineering discipline, Facilities or Construction Management or Applied science, or related equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary-level institution plus four years managerial experience in building maintenance (preferably commercial).
  • Professional Certifications such as PE, FMP, CFM and/or PMP would be an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of quality, environmental, and safety standards associated with civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, fire protection and related maintenance work.
  • Sound knowledge of building codes, working with architectural and other technical drawings and manuals and other international standards related to facilities management.
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical standards necessary to oversee acquisition, operation, and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
