Under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor, the Dining Room Attendant is responsible for the arranging service of food and also receiving the monies in a pleasant manner in the Cafeteria.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Prepares the MWI Cafeteria for internal and external clients
  • Serves meals to clients and responds courteously and professionally to any requests
  • Assists clients in meal selection
  • Preforms cleaning duties within the MWI Cafeteria as required, including cleaning of ALL equipment and surrounding work surfaces
  • During meal services, maintains cleanliness and order
  • Disposes of waste appropriately
  • Participates in department training and supports meetings as required
  • Adheres to policies and procedures with respect to the maintenance of safety and sanitation

 

Qualifications & Registration required:

  • Culinary Arts Certificate from an approved Culinary Arts Institution, for example, the Bermuda College or equivalent experience
  • One year of customer service experience / facilitating dining room food service in an active cafeteria environment
  • Knowledge of the Bermuda Department of Health food safety and quality assurance regulations
  • Demonstrated high level of integrity and professionalism
  • Can communicate effectively with the food service personnel, supervisors, and customers
  • Keen attention to detail while being an effective listener with excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work analytically in a fast-paced Cafeteria setting
