The incumbent will be responsible for the provision of the highest quality of healthcare in the Region in an effective, professional and cost-efficient manner.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and monitor the Regional Health Plan and determine health needs within the context of the National Plan and the policies of the North-Central Regional Health Authority and Ministry of Health. Collaborate with the Executive Management team in the implementation of the Regional Health Plan.
  • Facilitate the integration of all levels of Clinical Services to provide a continuum of Clinical Management.
  • Review, monitor and evaluate all clinical services to ensure that the delivery of healthcare is efficient, professional and of the highest quality. 
  • Advise the Chief Executive Officer and the Board on training and development needs for the Region’s Medical Staff consistent with the Authority’s goals and requirements for employment of the different categories. Work closely with Clinical Heads and Medical Heads of the Healthcare facilities to ensure quality healthcare delivery and the implementation of established systems and protocols to minimize the risk of medico legal actions against the Authority. 
  • Direct clinical research, particularly in relation to the work of the Authority and other stakeholders.
  • Represent the Authority nationally, regionally and internationally in matters of health and healthcare delivery.
  • Perform any other related duties as directed by the organisational relationship. 

 

Minimum Qualifications, Training and Experience:

  • Postgraduate medical specialist qualifications with extensive senior management experience.
  • Excellent knowledge/experience in Community Health. 
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a related job function. 
  • Combination of clinical and training experience at various levels within the medical practice.
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago. 
  • * Certificates acquired at foreign universities MUST be supported by certified transcripts as well as evidence that the completed program is accredited in Trinidad and Tobago.
