The Employee Engagement, Events & Wellbeing Officer develops and coordinates initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture, enhance employee wellbeing, and drive engagement to support the attraction and retention of high-performing talent.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Employee Engagement, Events & Wellbeing Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives that enhance employee engagement, workplace culture, and overall wellbeing across Doctors Hospital Health System (DHHS). This role serves as a key contributor to creating a positive employee experience by coordinating engagement programs, recognition initiatives, well-being activities, and organizational events that align with DHHS' values and strategic objectives.

The incumbent will work collaboratively with Human Resources, leadership, and associates to foster a culture of belonging, connection, recognition, and wellness while supporting the organization's efforts to attract, engage, and retain high-performing talent.


Essential Functions:

Employee Engagement:

  • Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives aligned with DHHS strategic goals and values.
  • Analyze engagement survey data and employee feedback to identify trends and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Partner with Human Resources and departmental leaders to foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and belonging.
  • Support the development and execution of diversity, equity, inclusion, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations on engagement metrics and program outcomes.
  • Monitor participation rates, engagement scores, and employee feedback to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Assist with internal communication strategies that promote employee engagement and organizational culture.

Employee Experience

  • Support onboarding and orientation initiatives to ensure a positive employee experience from hire through integration.
  • Assist with employee recognition, appreciation, and retention initiatives.
  • Coordinate and execute the annual DHHS employee events calendar, including recognition events, wellness activities, holiday celebrations, appreciation programs, and community engagement activities.
  • Manage event logistics, including scheduling, venue selection, catering, audiovisual requirements, vendor coordination, and attendee communications.
  • Monitor and track event budgets, expenditures, and post-event reconciliations.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations and implement continuous improvement recommendations.

Employee Well-Being

  • Coordinate and support employee well-being initiatives focused on physical, emotional, mental, social, and financial wellness.
  • Assist in the administration and promotion of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and related well-being resources.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees seeking information on well-being programs and resources.
  • Develop communication campaigns to increase awareness and participation in well-being initiatives.
  • Track utilization and effectiveness of well-being programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Research emerging workplace well-being trends and best practices to support program development.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate records related to engagement, events, and well-being initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports on program participation, outcomes, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with budget planning and monitoring for engagement and well-being activities.
  • Support special projects and other Human Resources initiatives as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Participate in Human Resources committees and cross-functional teams.
  • Assist with community outreach and corporate social responsibility activities.
  • Support departmental administrative functions as required.
  • Attend professional development and training opportunities to maintain knowledge of industry best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, Communications, Event Management, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of experience in employee engagement, human resources, organizational culture, employee well-being, event management, or a related field.
  • Experience planning and executing corporate events and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Experience analyzing survey data and employee feedback to drive organizational improvements.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification such as SHRM-CP, PHR, Mental Health First Aid, Workplace Wellness Certification, or a related designation.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or large multi-site organization.
  • Experience using employee engagement platforms and survey tools.

  • Ability to analyze data and prepare meaningful reports and recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create engaging communications across multiple formats, including presentations, emails, newsletters, and video content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
