This position reports to the Facilities Supervisor and is responsible for maintaining and repairing building systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Perform advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of building systems including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing.
  • Monitor and maintain Building Management Systems (BMS) for optimal operation for all Bank premises; identify potential problems and alert the Facilities Supervisor.
  • Lead complex repair or installation projects; coordinate with contractors and vendors when necessary.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all building equipment and systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment specifications.
  • Maintain records of work performed and materials used; assist in preparing maintenance reports, mentor and guide junior technicians; provide training and support when needed.
  • Ensure compliance of Bank facilities with Safety and Health legislation in the workplace by ensuring all safety measures and regulations are followed in this potentially dangerous environment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, local building codes, as well as environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with maintaining emergency and fire safety procedures/plans.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, functionality, and tenant satisfaction.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests during and outside regular work hours.
  • Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and assist in planning future upgrades or repairs.
  • Report any incidents via the Bank’s Incident Reporting System and updating as necessary.
  • Exercise constant vigilance, observe and report suspicious or unusual behaviours.
  • Ensure the proper use of the Bank’s CAFM system (MRI Evolution) ensuring correct entry of data.
  • May be required to act in the capacity of a regular security guard and assist with security matters as necessary.


Your qualifications and skills include:

  • High school diploma or GED required with five years of experience in building maintenance or a related field, technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Certifications in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing (e.g., EPA Universal, Journeyman License) strongly preferred.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of HVAC, fire safety, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
  • Familiar with database maintenance and building & energy management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Proficiency in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) or other maintenance tracking software.
  • Valid drivers’ license to intermediate level.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills, leadership abilities and good powers of observation.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and respond quickly to emergencies.
  • Must have high ethical standards.
