This role goes beyond the logistical aspects of funeral planning; it requires a delicate blend of emotional intelligence, administrative acumen, and an unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care and support. The role encompasses comprehensive preparation of the deceased, in accordance with industry and company standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide bereavement support to families, offering guidance and compassion during their time of loss.
  • Collaborate with families to plan and coordinate funeral services, ensuring all details align with their wishes.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of the deceased, including cosmetology services and sanitation procedures.
  • Manage logistics related to event planning for funerals, including transportation, venue arrangements, and necessary permits.
  • Conduct funeral services in accordance with legal requirements and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services provided, including documentation related to the deceased and family interactions.
  • Assist in heavy lifting and moving of caskets or other materials as required during services or preparations.
  • Stay informed about physiology knowledge to effectively address any concerns regarding the deceased's preparation.

 

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Basic computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Associate Degree’s degree or equivalent in Mortuary Science.
  • At least 3 years of experience working in a funeral home.
  • Knowledge in basic human anatomy.
  • Coursework in chemistry or biology.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills

  • Excellent Time Management
