Responsible for the day to day management of the Stores and for ensuring the safekeeping of all materials held in the stores.

 

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Receive, check and issue inventory and fuel to and from the stores.
  • Assist with regular stock count and fuel checks.
  • Check and examine goods going into the stores, prepare relevant Good Receive Notes and update Oracle database.
  • Identify location for goods receiving into stores, tag and pack them away if required.
  • Update descriptions and other information on stock cards.
  • Assist in the preparation of performance plan for location.
  • Organize warehouse to facilitate the easy identification and retrieval of inventory.
  • Identify damage/ obsolete stock items and recommend for disposal.
  • Verify the authenticity of Material Requisitions and other related documents.
  • Maintain Inventory at an optimum quantity and make request for stock transfer before minimum level is reached, however not to surpass the maximum quantity.
  • Comply with, all procedures related to Inventory Management and Occupational Safety and Health within Guyana Power and Light.
  • Verify inventory received is in conformity to the purchase order and verify items that are issued.
  • Perform daily checks on outdoor items.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned to you within the scope of your employment, from an Authorized Officer.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) plus certificate in Computer studies with three (3) years relevant experience.

OR

  • Five (5) subjects C.X.C. including Mathematics and English with at least five (5) years’ relevant experience.
