LECTURER/ SENIOR LECTURER IN GEOGRAPHY
Department of Geography and Geology
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Develop and deliver courses and conduct research at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in Geomorphology, Physical Geography, and Geosciences;
- Develop a research programme within at least one of the mentioned specializations;
- Supervise student research projects and dissertations at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Perform departmental administrative tasks as required;
- Develop and implement fieldwork programs that enhance practical learning experiences;
- Participate in curriculum development and contribute to departmental activities.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Applicants should have a PhD in Geomorphology, Physical Geography, Geosciences or a closely
- Preference will be given to candidates with at least five (5) years’ teaching experience at the tertiary level.
Candidates who possess the following will be at a distinct advantage:
- Certificate in University Teaching;
- Demonstrated record of high quality teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Experience supervising graduate students;
- Expertise in GIS and Remote Sensing;
- Evidence of prior grant acquisition;
- Administrative experience within an Academic Institution;
- Evidence of curriculum development (face to face and distance delivery modes);
- Evidence of contribution to the public service OR field of study.
