The incumbent manages complex trust and corporate structures, oversees client relationships, ensures compliance and AML standards, monitors profitability, meets revenue targets, assists with budgets, and mentors direct reports.

 

Trust Control, Manager

This position reports to the Head of  Caribbean, Trust Control and will be ensuring that the control functions of Group Trust are operated in accordance with relevant regulations, codes, policies and best practice.  The prime focus of the role is to manage the Financial Crime and the Fiduciary Periodic Review processes, for BTC clients. To ensure completeness of administrative procedures and records, adherence to tolerances set out in Group policies and  assist with development of review processes. 


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with development of BTC’s new business process or overseeing this process where delegated to other team members.
  • Overseeing the Financial Crime Fiduciary Review processes to ensure that Periodic reviews are undertaken within specifed deadlines, to train and develop reportees, to identify any risk or compliance issues that arise as a result of the Periodic Reviews and to monitor these through clearance, within specified timelines.
  • Liaising with members of the Compliance Department in connection with BTC’s customers, prospects and related entities.; re-evaluating the risk rating of customers under review and re-assigning the rating if appropriate. 
  • Assisting with ongoing development of risk assessment and mitigation processes
  • Maintaining BTC’s Procedures Manual and other related core documents and ensuring that the Trust Control function of BTC is operated in accordance with relevant regulations, codes, policies and best practice. 
  • Developing and overseeing testing programmes where BTC is relying on third parties or where required by Group Trust or Group policy or Procedures.
  • To oversee First Line of Defence ('Level One") quality assurance testing to demonstrate mandatory monitoring requirements for all customers.
  • supervision and training of Trust Control Team, provision of support to Relationship Managers and indriect reporting into the Group Trust Executive Committee via the Hroup Head of Trust Control Team.

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • minimum of ten years' experience in Trust and Company Administration
  • STEP qualified or equivalent
  • in-depth knowledge of AML regulations and Trustee and Director responsibilites 
  • a general understanding of relevant laws in other offshore jurisdictions to which BTC customer entities are routinely exposed
  • the ability to review a customer structure and identify any potential risks associated with that structure, be they fiduciary, regulatory, anti-money laundering, reputational, actual or potential financial losses or breaches
  • the ability to identify more complex matters, identify any potential problems and reach a suitable conclusion as to how the problem may be solved
  • the ability to exercise appropriate discretion on immaterial matters, but conversely will be expected to follow material matters to a conclusion, whether this be in their own work, or in the analysis of uncertainties affecting their work
  • an understanding of the regulatory environment will be required to effectively discharge duties with minimal reference to other members of the Risk team.
