The successful candidate will be responsible for providing longitudinal care for patients within a multi-disciplinary team. Clinical work will be performed in the MWI programme(s) as allocated in consultation with the Chief of Psychiatry.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • providing daily and longitudinal patient care within a multi-disciplinary team, managing inpatients and outpatients’ (community) psychiatric needs
  • working with and supporting one or more consultant psychiatrists under their supervision. Participating in multidisciplinary clinical team meetings
  • providing emergency psychiatric care at KEMH and MWI
  • working with health promotion strategies to foster a recovery-oriented approach to mental health care and community inclusion
  • routinely completes consultations on clients admitted to KEMH
  • participating in the Electro Convulsive Treatment (ECT) rota as required
  • providing coverage for all services during first on-call and liaison physician responsibilities


Qualifications & Registration required:

  • Completion of an undergraduate medical degree in a recognized training program.
  • Two years of post-graduate experience in psychiatry.
  • Medical license from a recognized authority and be in good standing
  • Registration with Bermuda Medical Council is mandatory for this position
