The Quantity Surveyor will provide cost estimates, interpret project plans, prepare contracts and bills of quantities, evaluate contractor submissions, and certify payments for construction projects.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.Sc. Degree in Quantity Surveying

 

Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience

  • Experience in roads, bridges, or buildings

Reporting Relationship:

  • Reports to: Manager, Quantity Surveying

 

Principal Functions:

  • Provide efficient preliminary estimates for building and civil engineering projects based on information from architects and civil engineers.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, sketch plans, layouts, and other visual aids for accurate cost estimation.
  • Prepare detailed bills of quantities and contract documents for projects.
  • Evaluate cost breakdowns submitted by contractors, analyze variances in tender rates/prices, and assist in negotiations as needed.
  • Measure and value completed works, and prepare interim and final payment certificates.
