Reporting to the the Assistant Vice President, Reconciliations this role manages an assigned portfolio of reconciliations, performs research, and works with other departments to resolve discrepancies when required.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting with existing and potential clients regarding loans, mortgages and various other credit products.
  • Managing an assigned portfolio of reconciliations ensuring control procedures are maintained and reconciling items are cleared within a pre-established time frame.
  • Verifying cash balances daily.
  • Producing reconciliation reports as required.
  • Researching and clearing all unmatched reconciliation items variances.
  • Utilising various systems to assist with the research of outstanding items.
  • Liaising with all applicable departments and any other necessary parties to resolve outstanding items.
  • Undertaking any other reconciliation or research or as directed by the Team Leader or AVP.
  • Providing back up for colleagues.
  • Completing Bank Confirmation requests from external Auditors when required.
  • Ensuring adherence to existing policies and procedures.
  • Identifying, analysing and resolving issues and problem areas.
  • Performing additional duties as specified.

 

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • University degree in business or equivalent
  • Three to five years’ experience in banking or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of complex accounting procedures required.
  • Knowledge of Frontier Account Reconciliation software would be an asset.
  • Strong investigative and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with strict deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office and divisional systems
  • Work with minimum supervision.
  • Sound initiative and team player in the attainment of departmental and organisational goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of applications
