Reporting and Credit Security Officer, Credit Risk Management

This role is to prepare financial reports and other trending data for the Bank’s loan portfolio for Executive and Senior Management, in Credit Services, Credit Risk Management, Credit Committee, local Board of Directors, Finance & Planning and Bermuda Credit Risk Management and to liaise with credit officers, customers, the Bank’s attorneys and the Senior Credit Security Officer to perfect the Bank’s security on corporate and mortgage facilities.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • effectively and efficiently compile and report portfolio data to the Bank’s executive and senior management, develop new reports and identify improvements for existing reporting
  • providing insight on loan portfolio trends and future lending/credit decisions
  • facilitating communications internally and externally on complex lending units to coordinate closing and prepare security documentation and disbursements of funds
  • monitoring and follow-up for outstanding documentation, including continuous monitoring and actioning of the Attorney’s Documents Pending Report
  • ensuring loan database and security documents are correct and up to date at all times
  • working effectively with the Senior Credit Security Officer to ensure that closings are done accurately and in line with SLAs
  • document procedures relating to financial reporting
  • ensuring Professional Indemnity Insurances for all attorneys on the Bank’s approved panel are up to date at all times.

Butterfield’s Credit Risk Management department is a dynamic environment, engaged in every facet of the Bank’s lending practices and operations. The team manages the credit risk associated with the Bank’s business activities, maintaining a framework of credit policies and guidelines to ensure that credit decisions are sound and credit risk exposure is kept within proper and acceptable risk parameters.

 

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • a sound educational background including a high level of numeracy, Bachelor degree or designation in accounting preferred
  • minimum of four years relevant experience
  • thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel, Word and Outlook
  • able to represent ideas and thoughts in a clear and focused manner
  • continually seeks improvement upon solutions
  • ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • demonstrates good customer service and ability to empathise with colleagues and clients in order to understand better their needs and concerns.
