The National Works Agency, an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the position of Senior Lab Technician.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of four (4) CSEC/GCE subjects
  • Certification or training in auto-mechanical servicing and repairs
  • Apprenticeship certificate
  • At least three (3) years relevant work experience
  • Computer literacy

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sound knowledge of equipment servicing procedures
  • Ability to operate modern tools and equipment
  • High level of responsibility, reliability, honesty, punctuality and discipline
  • Willingness to follow instructions and established procedures
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

  • Reports to: Regional Supervisor/Inspector

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance of Agency equipment and vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out necessary repairs
  • Ensure proper use and care of tools and equipment
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
  • Assist in supervising labourers assigned to mechanical and servicing duties
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures
  • Provide technical support to workshop teams as required
