Specialist Medical Officer (Pathology)

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Performs surgical pathology analyses, cytology and autopsies. Establishes work schedules and ensures efficient and adequate medical coverage and participates in hospital training programmes, MDT/MM meetings.
• Administers pathology reflected opinions and serves as a Consultant to medical officers of a lower level as well as medical practitioners in private practice.
• Organizes, plans and directs all activities in a hospital or perform specialist medical work in a specialist hospital or unit of a large general hospital.
• Initiates and direct staff conferences to discuss medical problems for instructional purpose
• Prepares operational and informational reports and analyses as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Medical Degree supplemented with the possession of a specialist diploma and/or post graduate degree in the relevant field.
• Registration with the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago as a Medical Practitioner and as a Specialist in the relevant field.
• At least five (5) years post graduate experience in a similar or related job function, any equivalent combination of qualifications, experience and training will also be considered.
• Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience. Interested candidates are asked to submit their Curriculum Vitae with copies of all relevant academic certificates.
