We are seeking an experienced Verification Officer to join our dynamic Card Services Team and support the achievement of key business goals.

 

Position Overview:

The Verification Officer, Card Operations is responsible for verifying credit and prepaid card transactions and related activities as assigned by the Assistant Manager or Manager. The role supports the efficient delivery of card services through regular interaction with Branches, Head Office departments, and external stakeholders.

The incumbent contributes to the overall effectiveness of the Card Operations Unit by performing additional duties as assigned and ensuring timely, accurate, and professional service delivery across all areas of responsibility.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify daily Credit Card and Prepaid Card transactions, audit reports, and system entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all credit and prepaid card applications are complete and supported by required KYC documentation prior to processing.
  • Review and validate data entered into card systems (ICCS and IPS), including account maintenance activities such as adjustments, replacements, and updates.
  • Identify, document, and escalate discrepancies, exceptions, rejected items, and data input errors to the Assistant Manager, Card Operations in a timely manner.
  • Analyze monetary postings to detect duplications, incorrect entries, or improper fees and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Coordinate daily verification deliverables with Issuing Operations, including immediate load verification and related reporting.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries professionally and efficiently, ensuring accurate information is provided and issues are resolved promptly.
  • Support Card Operations objectives by maintaining strong internal relationships and assisting with projects and initiatives that improve efficiency, controls, and service delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Manager or Manager, Card Operations.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent certification from the Bahamas Institute of Financial Services (BIFS).
  • Working knowledge of the Bank’s network, productivity software, and core banking applications to process customer requests, prepare correspondence, and generate reports.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Bank’s products and services, including all applicable service charges.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to interact with staff and customers at all levels.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computer, calculator, printer, fax machine, and photocopier.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
