The incumbent oversees payables, receivables, and revenue accounting, maintains budgetary control, and ensures compliance with GOJ procurement guidelines, financial policies, and the Public Bodies Management and Accountability Act.

 

Job Purpose:

The incumbent will have responsibility for financial activities, including the oversight of the Payables, Receivables, and Revenue accounting. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining effective budgetary control and ensuring adherence to with the Government of Jamaica Procurement Guidelines, Financial Policies and Procedures and the requirements of the Public Bodies Management and Accountability Act.

The ideal candidate should have:

 

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • A University degree in Accounting, Management or equivalent
  • Completed or pursing the ACCA and/or CPA designation would be an asset
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in financial accounting at a middle management or senior level with a medium or large organization
  • Experience in implementing management control systems
  • Proficient in Accounting applications and systems, as well as Microsoft Suite
  • Sound knowledge of management accounting systems, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge of the Public Bodies Management and Accountability Act
