We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Sales to join our dynamic Retail Banking Team and support the achievement of key business goals.

 

Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager, Sales (AM, Sales) leads the branch’s retail sales team and plays a vital role in achieving the branch’s overall success. The incumbent is responsible for driving profitable growth, retaining the team’s retail business portfolio, and meeting objectives in sales performance, customer service, human resource management, and operational efficiency.

Success in this role requires setting and achieving challenging but attainable goals, while providing ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to motivate and develop team members. The AM, Sales also promotes a culture of service excellence through effective daily engagement with customers and employees.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the branch’s retail sales team in achieving growth and profitability targets through effective sales management, coaching, and performance monitoring. Set clear and attainable goals and motivate staff to deliver exceptional results.
  • Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality customer service by fostering a culture of professionalism, responsiveness, and relationship building. Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide strong leadership through ongoing coaching, feedback, and formal performance appraisals.
  • Identify training and development opportunities to strengthen team capability and support career progression.
  • Oversee daily branch operations, including staffing, workload management, and adherence to service standards. Support the Branch Manager in implementing policies, achieving operational efficiency, and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Uphold regulatory standards, AML/KYC policies, and internal procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate operational and credit risks. Address audit findings and ensure the timely completion of required reports.
  • Review, recommend, and monitor retail loan applications within delegated limits, ensuring adherence to credit policies and sound portfolio management practices.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in business management, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in a sales or supervisory role within the banking industry.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage staff, build teamwork, and coach direct reports while ensuring efficient branch operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of branch operations, bank policies, procedures, and products to provide accurate guidance to employees and customers.
  • Analytical and mathematical skills to compile data, assess performance, and prepare accurate reports for management.
  • Sound judgment in interpreting laws, regulations, and policies to ensure full compliance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to prepare reports, engage with customers, and collaborate effectively with staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and core banking systems to analyze data, prepare correspondence, and generate reports.
  • Ability to maintain a broad, long-term perspective aligned with the Bank’s objectives.
