To provide for the maintenance and repair of pumps and related mechanical units.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To install and or extract pumps and associated equipment used in operations. 
  • To trouble shoot/diagnose defects with respect to pumps and related mechanical units and report on causes of malfunction specifying repairs and or replacement necessary for a return to service. 
  • To disassemble, repair, reassemble and test units to ensure proper functioning. 
  • To order materials and spares needed to complete job assignments. Ensures that materials/spares provided are properly accounted for. 
  • To make written and oral reports on jobs completed and in progress as required. 
  • To observe the occupational safety and health procedures and practices when carrying out job assignments. 
  • To perform other related duties and responsibilities consistent with the purpose and level of the post.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Craft Certificate in Mechanical Fitting.
  • Three (3) years related experience.
