Health & Safety Officer

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Ensures that occupational health and safety policies, procedures and legislative requirements are implemented and enforced.
• Assists in designing occupational health and safety monitoring systems and policy, procedure, guidelines development in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act.
• Conducts or participates in periodic occupational safety and health inspections of equipment, systems and processes.
• Conduct occupational safety inspections, audits and risk assessments.
• Investigates all reported accidents/incidents in accordance with requirements under the OSH Act and the NWRHA policies, and recommends corrective action to prevent recurrence.
• Makes recommendations to minimize possibilities of illness, injuries or losses likely to occur from identified potential hazards involving systems, equipment, materials, facilities or processes presently used or planned to be used.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or an equivalent accreditation.
• At least three (3) years' experience in a similar or related job function.
• Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience. Interested candidates are asked to submit their Curriculum Vitae with copies of all relevant academic certificates.
