The Manager leads daily operations, portfolio growth, and relationship management while overseeing complex lending, credit risk, and regulatory compliance to ensure service excellence.

 

General Accountability:

The Manager, Premier Banking is responsible for leading the Premier & Private Banking Unit and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to high-net-worth and Premier Banking clients. The incumbent drives business growth through portfolio expansion, operational excellence, effective risk management, and strategic leadership. This role oversees the end-to-end client experience, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while coaching and developing a high-performing team to achieve the Bank's business objectives.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the daily operations of the Premier & Private Banking Unit, ensuring operational efficiency and service excellence.
  • Develop and grow a profitable portfolio of Premier and Private Banking clients through relationship management and business development.
  • Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and performance management for Relationship Managers, Operations Supervisors, and Client Relationship Officers.
  • Oversee complex lending opportunities, ensuring sound credit analysis, risk assessment, and adherence to the Bank's lending policies.
  • Manage the end-to-end credit process, ensuring timely turnaround and effective collaboration with Credit Risk and other internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with high-value clients by delivering tailored financial solutions and an exceptional banking experience.
  • Monitor portfolio quality and implement proactive strategies to mitigate credit, operational, and compliance risks.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including AML/KYC standards, internal policies, and operational risk frameworks.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational processes, customer service, and overall business performance.
  • Contribute to departmental strategic planning, budgeting, and the achievement of sales and profitability targets.
  • Support business continuity planning and ensure operational readiness across the Premier Banking function.


Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive banking experience, including leadership experience in Retail, Commercial, Premier, or Private Banking.
  • Strong knowledge of Retail Banking products, services, banking operations, systems, and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in credit analysis, financial analysis, risk assessment, and sound lending judgment.
  • Thorough understanding of banking regulations, AML/KYC requirements, compliance standards, and operational risk management.
  •  Excellent leadership, coaching, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and decision-making abilities.
