The incumbent leads SOC operations, coordinates security technology initiatives, investigates incidents, and recommends international standards to improve systems, infrastructure, and alignment with global best practices.

 

JOB PURPOSE:

The Manager leads the Security Operations Centre (SOC), manages personnel, technology and operations, to ensure effective threat monitoring and incident response. The Manager develops processes and strategies to enhance cyber threat management and continuously improve the SOC performance.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the day-to-day operations of the SOC by prioritizing initiatives and coordinating the assessment, implementation and management of security technologies, platforms and projects.
  • Leads the identification, evaluation and implementation of technology solutions to meet the requirements of the SOC.
  • Benchmarks, analyses and makes recommendations for the improvement of infrastructure and systems.
  • Establishes processes and capabilities to investigate information security incidents.
  • Develops and implements crisis communication plans.
  • Recommends the adoption and implementation of international standards and frameworks to enhance SOC effectiveness and ensure alignment with global best practices.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • Seven (7) years experience in Information Security or related roles.
  • Three (3) years technical management experience.
  • At least three (3) years experience working in a SOC environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in advanced cyber threat detection, analysis and response.
  • Prior working experience as a SOC Manager.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CEH would be an asset.
