The Manager of the Security Operations Centre leads cybersecurity monitoring and incident response, ensuring SOC operations align with international best practices and organizational policies to drive continuous security improvement.

 

JOB PURPOSE

The Manager, Security Operations Centre (SOC) is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Authority’s security monitoring and detection capability. The role directs SOC operations to ensure continuous monitoring, timely detection, analysis, and escalation of cybersecurity events and incidents affecting the Authority’s ICT environments. The Manager ensures SOC services are delivered in accordance with recognised international best practices and organisational policies, while driving continuous improvement of people, processes, and technology.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day SOC operations, including staffing, shift scheduling, and performance management.
  • Oversee continuous security monitoring, alert triage, and escalation of incidents to the Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT).
  • Ensure SOC technologies and platforms are effectively implemented, maintained, and optimized.
  • Monitor SOC performance against defined service levels and key performance indicators, and prepare operational and management reports.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or high-severity security incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support coordinated incident detection and response.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOC policies, procedures, and operating standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SOC efficiency, effectiveness, and resilience.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop SOC staff, fostering a professional and high-performance team culture.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in information security or related roles.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience working in a Security Operations Centre (SOC), including experience in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent would be an advantage.
