Under the supervision of the Food Services Supervisor and Food Services Manager, the Diet Technician / Cashier works toward the achievement of the department’s goals for providing high quality food services to patients, staff and the public.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring Dietary Food Management interface for admissions, discharges, transfers, allergies and diet changes
  • Ensuring menus are printed and distributed to patients in a timely manner and according to the Department policy
  • Communicating with dietary staff regarding patient needs based on computer generated reports
  • Receiving regular patient menus to ensure they have been completed properly and are able to be scanned correctly
  • Operating cash register during hours of cafeteria operation and secure monies at the end of each shift

 

Qualifications & Registration required:

  • High School Diploma with a minimum of two years’ experience in computerized clerical and food service setting
  • Certification in basic Food Service & Nutrition Courses is preferred
  • Ability to operate a cash register and balance funds at the end of each shift
  • Demonstrable computer skills, math skills
